Senior Data Governance Analyst:

On behalf of our Oil & Gas client, Vaquarii is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst for a 10-Month Contract. Services would be carried out onsite from downtown Calgary headquarters. Hybrid Schedule is acceptable. 

Responsibilities:

• Microsoft Purview / classification enterprise project (implementation & operationalization feedback and input).
• Microsoft 365 classification and governance (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint).
• Translate Business, Legal, Privacy, and Regulatory requirements into enforceable governance controls.
• Contribute subject matter expertise to establish DLP standards in partnership with technical teams.
• Experience managing and migrating data from shared drives to M365 products.
• Backups & retention policy input and implementation oversight.
• Structured & Unstructured Data lifecycle management.
• Enhance discovery of unstructured data by improving how information is catalogued, surfaced, and searched across systems.
• Ability to interface with business users/groups to collect requirements.
• Create documentation and provide guidance to support adoption and compliance.
• Train internal staff to eventually backfill the role.

Must Have Skills:

1. Expert level knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft Purview
2. Minimum 5 years of experience Microsoft 365 classification and governance (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint).
3. Experience managing and migrating data from shared drives to M365 products.

Nice to Have Skills:

1. A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, related discipline or equivalent experience.
2. Industry certifications are considered an asset.
