Senior Data Analyst

On behalf of our Oil & Gas client, Vaquarii is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for a full-time position.
Services would be carried out onsite from downtown Calgary headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for high-volume streaming data.
• Oversee ingestion workflows from drilling and frac operational systems.
• Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including Relational databases & Object storage systems (e.g.,
  cloud-based data lakes).
• Ensure efficient movement of data between systems (ETL/ELT processes).
• Monitor pipeline performance, reliability, and data quality.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and analytics teams to support reporting and advanced analytics use
  cases.
• Develop reporting frameworks and datasets optimized for business intelligence and data science consumption.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and lifecycle management.

Must Have Skills:

1. 5-8+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or data science roles.
2. Strong experience managing streaming or high-frequency data pipelines.
3. Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.
4. Experience with object storage solutions (e.g., S3-compatible systems, Azure Blob, etc.).
5. Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data orchestration tools.

Nice to Have Skills:

1. Strong understanding of data modeling and performance optimization.
2. Experience working with large-scale operational or industrial datasets.
3. Direct exposure to drilling, completions, or frac operations data.
4. Experience with time-series data management.
5. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
6. Python or similar language for data processing and automation.
7. Experience supporting data science workflows and machine learning initiatives.
