Senior Tableau / SQL Developer:
On behalf of our Oil & Gas client,Vaquarii is seeking a Senior Tableau / SQL Developer for a full-time position. Services would be carried out onsite from downtown Calgary headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.
- Perform deep-dive analytics to uncover trends, patterns, and business insights.
- Collaborate with business units to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Optimize and tune SQL queries forperformance and efficiency.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting outputs.
- Support ad-hoc reporting and analytics requests from leadership and operational teams.
- Document data models, processes, and report logic.
Must Have Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, BI development, or related field
- Advanced proficiency in Tableau (dashboard design, calculated fields, parameters, data blending)
- Strong SQL expertise (complex joins, CTEs, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- Experience working with large relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.)
Nice to Have Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Operational experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience working with production, drilling, midstream, or asset performance data
- Exposure to data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
